She thought he said “Oh, the humanity” (that’s close, right?), and found herself picturing a creature that was part human, and part manatee—a humanatee! The idea lingered in her head for a whole five years, and after her mom insistently reminded her to draw what a humanatee might look like, she finally put pen to paper and drew what would become her first design. curator of fine art prints and awesome designs. When she began the idea for Atomik Cupcake Designs, she had decided to try something new with her artistic ambition; it was a way for her to finally sell her art to the public, something that she’d never done before outside of her tattoo career. The Colorado-based business has been in the works since 2012, when Tracy first began using the name Atomik Cupcake Designs to brand her art site. The website, whose name derived from a pretend band that she and her friends had come up with during their freshman year of high school, initially was a way for her to get an art portfolio and a collection of her tattoos online so that it would be more easily accessible to possible clients.
